We are actively seeking a Principal Consultant to join and support the management of our growing Environmental Appraisal team. In this crucial role you will work on a range of different water projects such as marine and freshwater EIA chapters, abstraction licence assessments, drought permit assessments, WFD compliance assessments and Habitats Regulations Assessments.
You will work on, and personally manage, a range of projects including large projects that span multiple disciplines. You will build on existing project management skills, write and review detailed scientific reports, work directly with clients and deliver growth by offering our services to our existing clients from across the Group.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Environmental Science or related discipline
- Demonstrable understanding of relevant environmental legislation
- Experience coordinating, completing and reviewing water related environmental impact assessments (including HRA and WFD assessment)
- Large scale EIA experience, preferably DCO / PINS projects
- Experience working for a fast-moving consultancy, or significant experience at a regulator/water company
- Good client engagement skills
- Experience managing and delivering involved and complex environmental projects
