About The Role

Are you passionate about the ecological health of our rivers? Have you gained some experience in freshwater ecology and monitoring, and want to work with experts in their field? Are you looking for a role where you can improve your knowledge across the full lifecycle of work within an environmental consultancy?

We are recruiting a Senior Freshwater Consultant to work with our dedicated aquatic freshwater team. You will gain a full 360 understanding of freshwater environmental assessments, providing you variety and a wider understanding of environmental consulting work. You and your peers will design monitoring and mitigation plans, carrying out or directing field work, completing data analysis, and authoring the reports to meet client needs including outcomes and recommendations.

This role will give you the support an exposure to learn and/or develop in every stage of the work programme. If you have any/all of the following we want to hear from you:

  • Experience of freshwater ecology monitoring e.g. macroinvertebrates, macrophytes and diatoms, to understand baseline condition and assess environmental change.
  • BSc or MSc degree in a relevant subject
  • Knowledge of UK policy, legislation and issues relating to freshwater ecosystems or water resources.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Experience in delivering projects within commercial consultancy, water industry or environmental regulatory environment.
