About The Role

Are you a skilled Landscape Architect with a solid background in LVIA? Are you looking for a role where you can work on a wide array of LVIA projects across the UK and Ireland? Are you looking for a unique opportunity within the renewable energy sector with frequent opportunity for fieldwork across Ireland?

Macro Works, part of the APEM Group, are a specialist landscape and visual consultancy, undertaking Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) for major commercial and infrastructural ventures across Ireland. We're currently on the lookout for a Landscape Architect to join our growing team working on a number of high volume, broad-ranging development projects, which include coastal / offshore, countryside and urban settings.

In this role you’ll be an integral part of our team, working on a varied portfolio of LVIA projects, each differing in scale, sector, and location. You will coordinate and sequence internal deadlines of your colleagues responsible for mapping, 3D modelling & graphics, to meet external project deadlines.

Over time, you will start to manage your own diverse portfolio of LVIA projects, liaising with clients and other technical teams including graphic & GIS support staff to successfully deliver high quality projects to our clients. You’ll have opportunities to empower your technical expertise, including getting out into the field to conduct surveys and collect baseline photography, collaborating with architects, planner & engineers to integrate LVIA considerations into project designs, along with providing expert advice on landscape and visual mitigation measures and much more.

You will have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture, environmental planning, geography, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in conducting LVIA for a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, infrastructure, and renewable energy developments.
  • Proficiency in GIS, CAD, and visualisation software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and independently manage project tasks and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, guidelines, and best practices related to landscape and visual impact assessment (e.g., Landscape Institute Guidelines, EIA Regulations).

You will be offered the chance to work on a variety of projects, many of our employees have worked on projects that have been of personal interest to them. We match this with a commitment to continuous development and learning to support your career. We also offer benefits to look after you, from private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health first aiders and comprehensive income protection if you cannot work. We also offer superb flexible working options, balancing work with your life.
