About The Role

Are you an experienced marine mammal consultant with strong impact assessment experience and a track record of delivering complex marine infrastructure projects? Do you want to lead marine mammal input across major offshore wind and wider marine developments? Are you looking for a role where you can combine technical expertise, client leadership and strategic influence within a market-leading consultancy?

We’re looking for a Principal Marine Mammal Consultant to join our growing Marine Mammal team. In this key role, you’ll lead and manage marine mammal input into EIA and HRA processes, helping shape mitigation, monitoring and consenting strategies for some of the largest and most exciting development projects in the UK energy sector. You’ll oversee and contribute to consent applications for multi-billion-pound infrastructure projects across offshore wind, tidal energy, interconnectors and port development.

You’ll also play a key role in stakeholder and client engagement, technical review of deliverables, and the provision of clear, strategic advice across complex projects.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A degree (preferably MSc), in a marine focussed environmental or ecological subject.
  • Experience of EIAs and HRAs for large marine infrastructure projects, or experience evaluating EIAs on behalf of a competent authority or consultee.
  • Excellent working knowledge of marine mammal impact assessment including underwater noise impacts and mitigation and monitoring methods.
  • Working knowledge of UK and Ireland legislation with regards to marine mammals.
  • Experience working with and developing relationships with regulators and stakeholders.
  • To be able to provide technical advice and presentations to clients and colleagues as required.
  • Project management experience delivering projects within budget and to a high standard.
