We’re looking for a Terrestrial Ecosystems Ireland Associate Director to join APEM Group’s leadership team. You’ll help lead and develop our established team, building on strong foundations while expanding our capabilities and presence across the island of Ireland. Working with colleagues across the wider Group, you’ll have the opportunity to shape our offering, develop new client relationships and bring together expertise from across the business to deliver for clients in the water, energy, infrastructure and ecology sectors.
This is a role for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a commercial mindset. You’ll help turn business strategy into action, identifying opportunities for growth, developing trusted client relationships and ensuring projects deliver both excellent outcomes and strong commercial performance. Alongside this, you’ll lead and develop your team, creating an environment where people can do their best work, build their expertise and progress their careers.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

Extensive experience in the Irish environmental consultancy sector, with a strong understanding of the market, regulators and key stakeholders

A strong track record across Irish environmental assessment and regulatory requirements, including Appropriate Assessment, NIS and EcIA

Experience leading teams and delivering complex projects, with a focus on technical quality and client outcomes

A commercial mindset, with the ability to identify growth opportunities, manage project performance and drive profitability

Strong client relationship and business development skills, with the ability to build lasting partnerships

The ability to collaborate across disciplines, bringing together expertise to deliver for clients and grow the wider business
It’s a bonus if you have:

An MSc or PhD in an environmental subject

Chartered status or full membership of a relevant professional institution

An established network of contacts across the Irish environmental sector
