About The Role

Are you an Ornithologist looking to progress your career to the next level with a growing and ambitious organisation? Do you have a few years of experience and are looking to deliver high-level surveys and be a mentor and manager to early-career ecologists? If so, we want you to become a key member of our vibrant and enthusiastic team!
 
We are actively searching for a Senior Ornithologist to become an essential part of our thriving Woodrow division. Woodrow is the driving force behind APEM Group’s terrestrial ecology endeavours in Ireland, engaging in a diverse range of exciting ecological projects. These encompass a large variety of projects from habitat monitoring and restoration to crafting habitat management plans, conducting impact assessments, and much more.

In this crucial role, you will help drive forward our delivery of ecological consultancy, both in leading fieldwork and informing impact assessment. You'll be managing your own projects from inception to completion, managing client interaction and working collaboratively with our wider project team.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • A National Framework Qualification Level 9, in ecology or related subject.
  • Four years plus-post graduate experience in a fast-paced environmental consultancy or similar.
  • Full, clean EU driving licence.
  • Highly developed ornithology survey skills.
  • Specialism in ornithology on large-scale projects in key sectors.
  • A thorough knowledge of ecological legislation and planning policy in Ireland, Northern Ireland and EU.
  • Excellent report writing skills and proven project management abilities.
