About The Role

Are you an M&A professional looking for broader, hands-on deal exposure than a traditional corporate or advisory environment can offer? Do you enjoy getting into the detail of transactions while developing your commercial judgement and experience? Are you looking for a role where you can build real end-to-end deal exposure in a high-growth, acquisitive business?

It’s an exciting time to join APEM. As a fast-growing environmental consultancy, now part of the global Applus+ Group, we’re entering a new phase of international growth, investment and acquisition activity. We’re looking for an M&A Manager to support the delivery of APEM’s growth strategy through targeted, strategic acquisitions. This role offers something genuinely different from a traditional corporate or highly process-driven M&A environment. Working within a lean, high-impact team, you’ll gain hands-on exposure across the full deal lifecycle.

You’ll play an active role in progressing transactions, supporting analysis, coordinating workstreams and helping drive deals forward. You’ll build well-rounded experience across financial modelling, commercial analysis and execution, rather than working in a narrow specialism.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants hands on involvement in the M&A cycle with a clear path to build an M&A career through breadth of experience and responsibility.

While we are a remote-first business, this role will require regular engagement with stakeholders in the North West of England, so candidates should be based locally or comfortable spending time in the region.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience in M&A, corporate finance, transaction services or similar
  • Exposure to deal processes including financial analysis and due diligence
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting transactions through to completion
  • Exposure to post-acquisition integration
  • ACA, CIMA or CFA (or working towards)
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders

As your experience frown the role will offers:

  • Hands-on exposure across the full deal lifecycle
  • Direct experience working on live transactions and with senior stakeholders
  • The opportunity to build broad M&A capability in a growing, acquisitive business
  • Mentorship from experienced leaders across APEM and Applus+

If you’re looking for an opportunity where you can combine hands-on execution, commercial exposure and genuine career growth, we’d love to hear from you.
