We’re looking for a Senior Marine Consultant to join AQUAFACT, delivering projects across aquaculture, offshore renewables, ports and harbours and other marine developments. You’ll lead and contribute to EIAR, AA, NIS, WFD and MSFD assessments, working across projects from inception through to completion. You’ll also take responsibility for project delivery, client relationships, tendering and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
You’ll become a trusted technical adviser to clients and stakeholders, providing evidence-based advice and practical solutions to complex environmental and consenting challenges. Alongside technical delivery, you’ll develop your project management and commercial skills, helping to manage budgets, resources and risks while mentoring consultants and graduates across the team.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Relevant third level Degree (Level 8 or higher) in marine science/ecology or related discipline.
- 24 months minimum experience working within a planning or environmental/ecological consultancy area.
- Experience in the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), AA Screening and NIS
- Good working knowledge of Irish and EU wildlife and planning legislation such as Habitats Directive, Water Framework Directive, Marine Strategy Framework Directive, aquaculture licensing regulation and maritime usage licensing.
- Strong technical report writing skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and familiar with project hygiene practices.
- GIS experience.
Desirable:
- Relevant Master’s degree or higher degree.
- Experience in the delivery of Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA).
- Membership of a professional body, working towards chartership.
