Are you a commercially astute business growth leader who understands how to win complex consultancy work? Do you thrive at the intersection of market strategy, client engagement and commercial delivery? Are you ready to shape the future of power, energy and renewables within one of the UK's leading environmental consultancies?
At APEM, we're looking for a strategic and commercially minded Client Growth Director to lead our Power & Renewables growth agenda across the UK & Ireland. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll help define where we play, how we win, and how we continue to strengthen our position as a trusted partner to some of the energy sector's most influential organisations.
This role is much more than traditional business development. We're looking for someone who truly understands the consultancy work-winning cycle, from identifying market opportunities and shaping client strategies through to capture planning, bid leadership and long-term account growth. You'll bring the commercial awareness, critical thinking and strategic insight needed to ensure APEM's science, technology and environmental expertise is positioned in the right places, with the right clients, at the right time.
You'll be someone clients seek out for insight, advice and partnership. Through your understanding of market dynamics and client challenges, you'll help APEM build deeper relationships with developers, utilities, infrastructure providers and strategic partners. You'll create and drive a clear growth strategy that aligns our technical expertise with future market demand, ensuring we're not only winning the right work today but identifying the opportunities that will define tomorrow. Using strong commercial judgement, you'll shape robust pipelines, influence major pursuits and support winning strategies that deliver real value for both clients and APEM.
Joining APEM at this exciting stage of our growth journey also means becoming part of the wider Applus+ Group, creating opportunities for international collaboration across Europe, North America, Latin America and Australia.
You'll bring:
- Significant senior-level experience from an environmental consultancy sector focusing on the power, energy, renewables, and/or infrastructure industries.
- A proven track record of winning and growing complex consultancy projects and strategic client accounts.
- Deep understanding of the end-to-end consultancy sales and work-winning process, including opportunity development, capture planning, bidding and account management.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience shaping pricing, negotiating contracts and developing profitable growth strategies.
- An established network across the power, energy and renewables market.
- The ability to blend business development with strategic thinking, market insight and critical analysis.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory, commercial and technical drivers shaping the energy transition.
This is an opportunity to shape a core growth market at a time of significant investment and transformation. You'll have the autonomy to influence strategy, build trusted client relationships and work alongside some of the industry's leading technical experts. Most importantly, you'll play a central role in helping clients deliver projects that support the energy transition and create positive environmental outcomes.
At APEM, we champion collaboration, innovation and flexibility. We empower our people to thrive professionally while maintaining the balance that matters to them. If you're a commercially driven leader who wants to make a lasting impact across the Power & Renewables sector, we'd love to hear from you.
