Are you looking for the opportunity to work on major offshore wind, subsea cable and marine infrastructure projects while developing your consultancy and technical leadership skills?
This is a great opportunity to join APEM’s growing Marine Physical Processes team and build on your existing experience in a role with plenty of scope to develop. As you develop, you’ll have increasing opportunities to lead workstreams, contribute to client and stakeholder discussions and become a trusted technical adviser.
This is particularly suited to someone who is ready to step up. You’ll have support from experienced team of marine environmental professionals, while also getting the opportunity to mentor more junior consultants and take increasing ownership of your work. With the right development, there is a clear pathway towards leading physical processes workstreams on major renewable energy projects in the UK and internationally.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
-
A degree or preferably MSc in a relevant discipline such as Oceanography, Geosciences, Marine Geography or Coastal Science.
-
Relevant experience in marine physical processes, coastal science, oceanography or a related field, gained in consultancy, research or government.
-
A good working knowledge of marine and coastal processes and how they interact with marine infrastructure.
-
Experience providing technical assessments, analysis or advice.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work with clients and technical stakeholders.
-
Good organisation and time management, with the ambition to take increasing ownership of projects.
Bonus points if you have:
-
Experience in coastal erosion, sediment transport, hydrodynamics or marine morphology.
-
Experience supporting EIAs or other marine environmental assessments.
-
Knowledge of the UK planning system.
-
Experience working on offshore wind, subsea cables or other marine infrastructure projects.
You’ll be joining a rapidly developing marine consultancy working on some of the UK’s most exciting infrastructure and renewable energy projects. We’ll give you the opportunity to develop both your technical expertise and your consultancy skills, with the variety of projects allowing you to build experience in the areas that genuinely interest you.
