Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we are seeking two Principal Ecologists to join our ecology and offsets team.
In this key role, you will lead the delivery of ecological assessments for major renewable energy projects, providing technical leadership and mentorship while producing high-quality reporting and outcomes. From designing and executing flora and fauna survey programs, to delivering strategic insights, you will ensure successful project approvals that balance environmental stewardship with development goals.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 10+ years of experience in delivering ecological assessments for project development and approvals.
- Significant expertise in leading flora and/or fauna surveys, including mapping vegetation communities and identifying rare and threatened species.
- Strong knowledge of Queensland’s regulatory frameworks and relevant Commonwealth legislation, with experience in other states highly regarded.
- A degree in environmental science, natural resources, or a related field, meeting suitability requirements for ecological assessments.
- A demonstrated understanding of biodiversity offsets, mitigation strategies, and rehabilitation solutions.
