APEM Group are seeking a Divisional Director to lead our Marine Science division, which plays a crucial role in supporting major marine infrastructure projects, including offshore wind, ports, and energy developments.
This role sits at the heart of APEM’s Marine Science Division, supporting clients in planning and environmental impact assessments for major marine infrastructure projects, particularly in offshore wind, marine energy, and ports and harbours. In 2024 alone, the team played a critical role in submitting applications for seven renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland, with a combined generating capacity of over 10GW.
As Divisional Director, you will be responsible for setting and delivering the strategic direction of the Marine Science division. You will drive commercial success, develop new service lines, and ensure operational excellence, working closely with colleagues across APEM Group to maximise market opportunities. Your leadership will foster a collaborative, high-performance culture, ensuring that our team is resourced, structured, and motivated to deliver high-quality consultancy services. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to drive sustainable growth, ensuring our Marine Science division remains competitive, resilient, and positioned for long-term success in an evolving global market.

A deep understanding of the scientific marine development market is essential. In addition, you should be knowledgeable of current regulatory and operational challenges, and possible future changes, and how these might be treated as a market opportunity.
You must also be able to demonstrate how you have delivered commercially viable growth for a business area, be that through delivering more for an existing client base, bringing on new clients or developing new products/offers within your market.
