APEM Group is seeking a Technical Director to lead and shape the future of our Marine Science Division, working on cutting-edge projects in offshore wind, marine energy, and infrastructure development.
As a world-class environmental consultancy, APEM Group provides expert advisory services to international corporations and governments, supporting large-scale infrastructure projects with agile, science-driven solutions. Our Marine Science Division is at the heart of this mission, comprising specialist teams in physical processes, benthic ecology, marine fish, commercial fisheries, marine ornithology, and marine mammals. In 2024 alone, we played a key role in submitting applications for renewable energy projects exceeding 10GW in generating capacity across the UK and Ireland.
As Technical Director, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-quality, science-led consultancy services. You will lead the division’s technical strategy, ensuring operational excellence, innovation, and the continued development of new service lines. You will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including developers, academic institutions, and government agencies to maintain our position as a leader in environmental services. Working closely with the Divisional Director, you will help maintain APEM’s reputation as the go-to provider for industry clients, government bodies, and regulatory agencies. You will provide the leadership needed to drive performance, build partnerships, and support the commercial growth of our Marine Science Division. As APEM expands into international markets including Australia and APAC, you will be instrumental in shaping our global marine strategy.
To be considered, you must have a background in marine science or environmental consultancy, a proven track record of leading technical teams, and the ability to cultivate a high-trust, high-performing team and deliver high-quality consultancy services within budget and to rigorous scientific standards. Strong collaboration, people leadership, and commercial acumen are essential, along with a deep understanding of the marine development market.
