About The Role

Are you a graduate who is passionate about working with data or an individual who is naturally data-oriented? Are you looking to expand your knowledge of UK bats and their roosting, activity and echolocation habits? Are you looking to start your career in ecological and environmental data management, and progress within a dedicated and supportive team?

We are actively seeking a Graduate Ecology Data Technician to join our in-house Data Team at Aspect Ecology.
 
In this key role, you'll be supporting our Ecology Team by handling, analysing and evaluating the considerable amount of audio and video data we collect from our Phase 2 bat surveys. This includes identifying bat calls from our audio data and examining bat behaviour from our video data. There are also opportunities to get involved with Phase 2 bat surveys and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments if desired. 
 
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification in the environmental/biology sector, with a strong academic record.
  • Experience working with analytical or other processing software.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with effective teamwork and excellent organisation and communication skills.
